The Jackfork Formation exposures at McCain Mall, North Little Rock, represent a complex series of depositional environments. From base to top, these units have been interpreted as channel, channel slumps, debris flow, and late stage channel-fill, which are overlain by intercalated splay and distal levees,
which are capped by intercalated splays and distal levees. The 70' section seen here has been interpreted as 2 channel-fill sequences separated by a sheet sandstone. The sheet sand thickens upwards and has been interpreted as an overbank splay or an abandoned channel-fill sequence.
